Peddi OTT Deal: Ram Charan's upcoming film Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Telugu releases of 2026. With Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead and music composed by Oscar winner A.R. Rahman, the film is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 27, 2026.

According to a report by OTTplay, Netflix has acquired the post-theatrical digital rights to Peddi in a deal estimated at ₹105 crore-a figure that, if accurate, would make it one of the highest OTT acquisitions in Telugu cinema to date.

The report indicates that multiple streaming platforms were in contention to bag the rights, but the producers ultimately closed the deal with Netflix. With this acquisition, Peddi joins the growing list of high-budget Indian films finding a digital home on the global streaming giant.

Production on Track Ahead of March 2026 Release

The film is currently in production, with principal photography progressing on schedule. A behind-the-scenes image shared by director Buchi Babu Sana recently gained traction online, offering a glimpse into the set atmosphere and reaffirming that the team is working steadily toward the March 27, 2026, theatrical release date.

Set in rural Andhra Pradesh during the 1980s, Peddi follows the journey of a spirited villager who rallies his community through sports to stand up to a dominant adversary. The story explores themes of pride, unity, and resistance. The project features a notable ensemble cast that includes Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead, along with Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, and Divyenndu Sharma in key roles.

The film is being produced under the banners of Vriddhi Cinemas and Mythri Movie Makers, with Venkata Satish Kilaru serving as producer. Key crew members include R. Rathnavelu as the cinematographer, Navin Nooli in charge of editing, and Avinash Kolla overseeing production design. Music is composed by A.R. Rahman, with lyrics penned by Anantha Sriram and Balaji. The film's 'First Shot Glimpse' was released on April 8, 2025.

The post-production process will be handled at Annapurna Studios, while the music rights have been acquired by T-Series. With its scheduled release next year and now a major OTT deal reportedly in place, Peddi is already drawing industry attention for its scale and its star cast.
