The movie directed by Srikanth Addala was made on a budget of Rs 40 Crore and was released for Sankranthi on January 11, 2013.
The movie earned highly positive reviews and earned a share of Rs 51 Crore becoming the second-highest-grossing film of that year. It also won two awards each at the 61st Filmfare Awards South and 3rd South Indian International Movie Awards. The film also won as many as four Nandi Awards.

The makers of the film finally came up with an official date where fans can re-visit the magic on the big screen. The movie will hit select theatres on March 7 in an technically enhanced 4K version.
