Veteran Telugu actor and former MLA Kota Srinivasa Rao passed away on July 13 at his home in Filmnagar, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. He succumbed to a long illness just two days after celebrating his 83rd birthday. His death marked the end of an era for Telugu cinema, where he was celebrated for his versatile acting skills.

SS Rajamouli's Tribute

Prominent filmmaker SS Rajamouli visited Rao's residence to pay his respects. However, outside the house, a fan attempted to take a selfie with Rajamouli, which led to a tense moment. The director, visibly upset by the intrusion during such a solemn occasion, expressed his frustration by pushing the fan aside.

In a viral video, SS Rajamouli was seen leaving Rao's residence with his wife, Rama Rajamouli. A fan followed him persistently to his car and tried to take a selfie. This prompted Rajamouli to lose his cool and gesture in frustration as if questioning the fan's actions.

Funeral Attendees

Several stars from the Telugu film industry attended Kota Srinivasa Rao's funeral. Notable figures like Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, Prakash Raj, Venkatesh Daggubati, and Rana Daggubati were present to honour the legendary actor. Their presence underscored the immense respect and admiration they had for him.

SS Rajamouli also shared an emotional note on X (formerly Twitter) in memory of Kota Srinivasa Rao. He wrote: "Deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Kota Srinivasa Rao garu. A master of his craft, a legend who breathed life into every character he portrayed. His presence on screen was truly irreplaceable. My heartfelt condolences to his family. Om Shanti."

Kota Srinivasa Rao's Legacy

Kota Srinivasa Rao was born on July 10, 1942, in Kankipadu village in Andhra Pradesh. He began his acting career in 1978 with the Telugu film "Pranam Khareedu," which starred Chiranjeevi in the lead role. Over the years, he appeared in more than 750 films across various languages.

His contribution to cinema is unparalleled as he brought depth and authenticity to every role he played. His legacy will continue to inspire future generations of actors and filmmakers alike.
