The Girlfriend Box Office Collection Day 1: Rashmika Mandanna has been making waves this year with several successful films. According to a report published in Sacnilk, The Girlfriend made a collection of Rs 1.3cr (Rs 1.25cr in Telugu and Rs 5 lakhs in Hindi)

Interestingly, despite good reviews The Girlfriend has failed to beat Rashmika Mandanna's Aadavallu Meeku Johaarlu which had made an opening day collection of Rs 2.4cr

Given the fact that the weekend has begun, The Girlfriend is expected to see a hike in numbers today (day 2/ first Saturday). The movie is expected to rake in Rs 3-4cr and till be crossing Rs 5cr mark
Meanwhile, as The Girlfriend has been witnessing intense comparisons with Vijay Deverakonda starrer Arjun Reddy, director Rahul Ravindran told NDTV, "Arjun Reddy is a cult film which was a game breaker in cinema and it's a much bigger film. My film is not close to it and honestly, this so-called similarity struck me only after the people on social media pointed it out. I actually thought of the story much before Arjun Reddy came about".
