The Girlfriend Early Review: Rashmika Mandanna is on a roll this year and there are no second thoughts about it. The diva started the year on a blockbuster note with Vicky Kaushal starrer Chhaava, followed by Salman Khan's Sikandar, Dhanush and Nagarjuna starrer Kuberaa and the recent release happened to be Maddock's romantic horror comedy Thamma opposite Ayushmann Khurrana. And now, the diva is back in the headlines for her next release which happens to be The Girlfriend which is a Telugu romantic drama.

Directed by Rahul Ravindran, The Girlfriend also features Dheekshith Shetty, Anu Emmanuel etc in the lead. The movie marks Rashmika and Dheekshith's first collaboration and their fresh chemistry has been a sheer treat to the audience. In fact, the trailer and the songs have already managed to create a massive buzz in the town. Meanwhile, as The Girlfriend has been witnessing intense comparisons with Vijay Deverakonda starrer Arjun Reddy, director Rahul Ravindran told NDTV, "Arjun Reddy is a cult film which was a game breaker in cinema and it's a much bigger film. My film is not close to it and honestly, this so-called similarity struck me only after the people on social media pointed it out. I actually thought of the story much before Arjun Reddy came about".
