Prabhas Plays Dual Roles in Maruthi's Horror-Comedy

The Raja Saab is written and directed by Maruthi, marking his first collaboration with Prabhas. The film has been in the making for a while, with principal photography reportedly beginning as early as October 2022, even though the official announcement came much later in January 2024. The production is handled by T. G. Vishwa Prasad and Vivek Kuchibotla, representing the People Media Factory banner.

Prabhas reportedly plays a dual role in the film-one of which is speculated to be a ghost-adding a supernatural layer to what is otherwise framed as a romantic comedy. The narrative follows a young man who eyes his ancestral property as a way out of financial trouble, leading to a series of events that unfold in a comedic and eerie setting. The film is said to be set against the backdrop of an old cinema theatre, with reports suggesting Prabhas portrays both a theatre owner and his grandfather.

The film also stars Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan (in her Telugu debut), and Riddhi Kumar in prominent roles. Supporting cast members include Zarina Wahab, Vennela Kishore, Brahmanandam, Yogi Babu, and Supreeth Reddy. Nayanthara is reportedly making a special appearance in a song.

On the technical front, the cinematography is handled by Karthik Palani, with editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao. Music is composed by Thaman S.

Distributed by B4U Motion Pictures and AA Films, The Raja Saab is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 5, 2025. The film will release in Telugu along with dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
