Kalki 2898 AD was one of the most talked-about movies of 2023 which became one of the highest-grossing Indian films by earning around Rs. 1200 Cr globally. After the movie's theatrical run ended, the dystopian-plot based movie hit the OTT space. While the Hindi version hit Netflix, the other versions hit Amazon Prime on August, 2024. After it started streaming on Netflix, it emerged to become the 2nd most-watched non-English fim globally. Now, according to the reports, another Indian movie has dethroned Kalki 2898 AD to take the spot.

Well, it is Pushpa: The Rule aka Pushpa 2, which has dethroned Kalki 2898 AD to become the second most-watched non-English Netflix film globally in just four days after its release on January 30, 2025. The movie has also topped the list of most-watched movies in seven countries. Furthermore, it has also been in the list of top 10 movies in 15 countries. As of February 2, the movie has had 21.8 million watch hours with 5.8 million viewes in just 4 days on the platform while Kalki 2898 AD had 13.1 million watch hours with 4.5 million viewers in 8 days after release on Netflix.
