Uppu Kappurambu OTT Release: The Telugu-language satire Uppu Kappurambu is gearing up for its direct-to-digital debut this week. The film, headlined by Keerthy Suresh and Suhas Pagolu, will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on July 4, 2025. Viewers across India and in over 240 countries and territories will be able to stream the film in five languages-Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada.

Set in the 1990s, Uppu Kappurambu is a fictional tale set in the village of Chitti Jayapuram. The story revolves around a peculiar problem that has gripped the community: a serious lack of burial space. Apoorva (Keerthy Suresh), a newly appointed village head, is determined to tackle the issue. She is joined by Chinna (Suhas), the village's graveyard caretaker, whose motives are not entirely transparent.

The narrative explores the tension between tradition and necessity, unfolding through satire and subtle emotion. As Apoorva attempts to modernize the system and offer solutions, the film follows how the villagers react, adapt, or resist change. Quirky interactions and an undercurrent of mischief drive the story forward, painting a picture of rural life that is both humorous and reflective.

Directed by Ani I.V. Sasi, the film is written and created by Vasanth Maringanti and produced by Radhika Lavu under the Ellanar Films banner. The ensemble cast includes Babu Mohan, Shatru, Talluri Rameshwari, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Ravi Teja, Vishnu O.I, Duvvasi Mohan, Sivannarayana, and Prabhavathi Varma.

The technical crew comprises Divakar Mani as the cinematographer, Sreejith Sarang as the editor, and Sweekar Agasthi handling the music. Production design is by SriNagendra Tangala, while Poojita Tadikonda takes charge of costumes. Action sequences are choreographed by stunt director Ravi Thyagarajan, with Rakesh Cherumadam overseeing VFX.

With its unique premise and ensemble-driven storytelling, Uppu Kappurambu offers a fictional yet grounded lens into the challenges and dynamics of small-town governance, social rituals, and community engagement.
