Vijay Deverakonda Issues Apology For His Comments On Tribals: Following the ruckus that the 'Kingdom' actor's speech at Suriya's Retro Telugu pre-release event led to, Vijay Deverakonda, finally apologized for his remarks against the tribal community after an association booked him under the SC/ST Act. The actor issued a public apology underlining his "sincere regret" in a detailed social media post he put up today (May 3.)

In his apology addressing, "To my Brothers (With a heart emoticon)," Vijay elaborated on why and how he used the term 'tribe' and that he had absolutely no intention to look down upon someone individually or as a community or to hurt or target a community, especially our Scheduled Tribes, who are an integral part of our community." The issue began with the actor's remarks about Pahalgam Terror Attack went out of hands. As Suriya stood behind unperturbed during Vijay Deverakonda's speech at Retro event in Hyderabad, Vijay Deverakonda spoke in a manner that hurt the sentiments of tribal people.

The president of the Adivasi Lawyers Association, Kishan Raj Chauhan said, "The actor's reference to tribal communities in the context of terrorism is unacceptable and dangerous. His speech showcases his lack of awareness and sensitivity towards tribal history and identity." The association demanded a public apology from Vijay Deverakonda.

On the professional front, the actor will be next seen in Kingdom, a spy action thriller written and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. Bhagyashri Borse is the film's female lead and plays a medico in the film. The movie also features Satyadev in a key role. The first single titled 'Hridayam Lopala' was dropped on May 2. The movie will hit the screens on May 30 and was made on a big budget of Rs 110 Crore.
