Vijaya Rangaraju Passes Away: Vijaya Rangaraju, the popular Telugu actor famous for his villainous roles, has passed away after suffering a heart attack. According to reports, he had been receiving treatment at a private hospital in Chennai following an injury sustained during a film shoot in Hyderabad just a week earlier. Despite being treated for his injuries, Rangaraju succumbed to a heart attack. His final rites are scheduled to take place in Chennai.
Born Raj Kumar, Vijaya Rangaraju also acted in Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada films and was known for his strong presence in negative and supporting roles. He began his acting career in theater in Chennai before transitioning to the silver screen. His breakthrough came with the 1994 film Bhairava Dweepam, in which he starred alongside Nandamuri Balakrishna as a menacing antagonist.
Actor with Notable Roles Across Multiple Languages
His cinematic journey included roles in several films, including director Bapu's Seetha Kalyanam, which marked his debut in Telugu cinema. In Malayalam cinema, Rangaraju is particularly remembered for his portrayal of Rowther in the hit film Vietnam Colony, starring Mohanlal.
One of his most notable performances was in the action-packed Yagnam alongside actor Gopichand, where his role as a villain earned him widespread recognition and acclaim.
In addition to his acting career, Rangaraju was passionate about weightlifting and bodybuilding, demonstrating his commitment to physical fitness off-screen. Recently, he had been involved in controversy following derogatory comments made about the late actor Vishnu Vardhan.
Rangaraju is survived by his two daughters, Dikshitha and Padmini.
