Peddi First Review: Ahead of its June 4 theatrical release, Peddi has drawn attention after details from its CBFC certification became public. The upcoming Telugu sports action drama, directed by Buchi Babu Sana and starring Ram Charan in the lead role, was granted a UA 16+ certificate after certain modifications were carried out in accordance with the board's recommendations.

Peddi First Review What CBFC Records Reveal

According to the CBFC certificate issued on May 22, 2026, the film was cleared for theatrical exhibition with an approved runtime of 189 minutes (3 hours and 9 minutes). The certification records show that the examining committee recommended a number of changes, including dialogue modifications and visual alterations, before granting the certificate.

As per the details available in the certification records, the board asked the makers to either mute or modify a number of words and phrases appearing at different points in the film. Some of the changes involved dialogue alterations, while one recommendation related to a visual element. The board also directed the team to remove or alter a reference to "Rajasthan" and a community-related mention in a particular sequence. The certification records also indicate that a lyric in the song "Chikiri" was modified as part of the changes suggested by the board. In another instance, a visual depicting a middle-finger gesture was required to be covered using CGI modifications.

The makers subsequently carried out the recommended changes and submitted the revised version. Following the implementation of these modifications, the film was granted CBFC certification. The certificate classifies the film as UA 16+, meaning viewers aged 16 years and above may watch it independently, while those below 16 are advised to watch it under parental guidance.

Peddi Cast and Crew

Peddi marks the first collaboration between Ram Charan and director Buchi Babu Sana, who previously directed Uppena. Produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas and co-produced by Ishan Saksena under IVY Entertainment, the film is presented by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings. The project features Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu Sharma, and Boman Irani in significant roles.

The film is scheduled for a multilingual release on June 4, 2026, in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. While the story details have largely been kept under wraps, the project has been described as a sports action drama and has generated attention due to its cast and technical crew.

On the technical side, Academy Award-winning composer A.R. Rahman has scored the music, while R. Rathnavelu serves as cinematographer. The editing has been handled by Navin Nooli, and production design is by Avinash Kolla.

With its CBFC certification already in place and the final runtime officially confirmed, Peddi is cleared for theatrical exhibition and is set to arrive in cinemas worldwide on June 4. At this stage, the CBFC certification and the details of the mandated modifications provide the first official insight into the film's final theatrical version ahead of release.
