The narrative traces Peddi's life in an isolated, unrecognized village facing discrimination and neglect. Gifted in sports, he becomes determined to fight for his community's identity and basic rights after a personal tragedy changes the course of his life. As he overcomes social and physical challenges, Peddi's journey reflects the struggles of his village and the role of sport in bringing attention to their long-standing demands.

Peddi is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the Vriddhi Cinemas banner, with Ishan Saksena serving as co-producer under IVY Entertainment. The project is presented by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings. The film's original score and soundtrack are composed by A. R. Rahman, while R. Netflix has officially confirmed that Peddi will begin streaming from July 9. The platform announced that the film will be available in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, while the Hindi version will be released at a later date.
