Ram Charan Mobbed By Fans While Carrying Daughter To Visit Newborn Twins & Upasana, Video Triggers Debate

Ram Charan Mobbed by Fans At Hospital: Actor Ram Charan found himself at the centre of attention on February 1 after videos surfaced online showing him being mobbed by fans outside Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad, while carrying his child. The incident occurred a day after the actor and his wife, Upasana Konidela, welcomed twins, a baby boy and a baby girl, a development that has sparked widespread discussion on social media, not only for the birth announcement but also for the fan behaviour that followed.

Ram Charan Mobbed By Fans While Carrying Daughter

According to clips shared widely on X and Instagram, Ram Charan was seen arriving at Apollo Hospitals to help his daughter visit her newborn siblings. As he entered the premises with the child in his arms, a large group of fans gathered around him, attempting to take photographs and videos at close quarters. Despite security presence, the crowd appeared to close in, leaving little personal space for the actor or the child. Several social media users criticised the scene, questioning the lack of civic sense and expressing concern over safety and privacy, especially given the presence of an infant.

The incident followed the official announcement of the twins' birth, which was shared late on January 31 by Ram Charan's father, veteran actor Chiranjeevi Konidela. In a post on X, Chiranjeevi confirmed that Ram Charan and Upasana had been blessed with a baby boy and a baby girl, adding that both the mother and newborns were healthy. He also thanked well-wishers for their prayers and support, describing the moment as a joyous occasion for the family.

Camphor Ritual Videos Add to Debate

While congratulatory messages poured in from across the film industry and among fans, some celebratory reactions also drew criticism. Videos and photos circulating online showed sections of fans lighting camphor on bare hands to celebrate the arrival of the twins. Though intended as an expression of devotion and celebration, the act was met with mixed responses, with many online users calling it excessive and unsafe.

Upasana Konidela had announced her second pregnancy in October 2025, following which the family hosted a baby shower attended by close friends and relatives. The couple's first child, daughter Klin Kara, was born in 2023, nearly a decade after their marriage. Ram Charan and Upasana tied the knot in June 2012 after being engaged in December 2011. Their relationship began as a long-standing friendship before eventually leading to marriage.

Upasana, who serves as Vice-Chairperson of CSR Apollo Hospitals, is the granddaughter of Prathap C Reddy, the founder of Apollo Hospitals. Ram Charan, meanwhile, continues to be one of the most prominent figures in Telugu cinema.
