Rashmika Mandanna Responds After Alleged Audio Clip Of Mother Circulates Online, Warns Of Legal Action
Rashmika Mandanna's Statement On Audio Clip Controversy: Actor Rashmika Mandanna has issued a public statement after an alleged audio clip featuring her mother, Suman Mandanna, began circulating widely on social media. The audio, which has drawn renewed attention online in recent days, is believed to be from an interview recorded several years ago.

The clip reportedly relates to events surrounding Rashmika's earlier engagement to Kannada actor Rakshit Shetty. It resurfaced weeks after Rashmika's wedding to actor Vijay Deverakonda on February 26 this year.
According to information shared online, the recording is said to originate from an interview Suman Mandanna gave to a Kannada news channel around eight years ago. Portions of the audio have recently been circulated across social media platforms.
Rashmika Mandanna's response
Reacting to the renewed circulation of the audio clip, Rashmika released a detailed statement addressing what she described as years of misinformation and online harassment.
In her statement, the actor said that for nearly eight years she had faced repeated attempts to misrepresent her words and create misleading narratives. She noted that she had largely chosen to remain silent during this period, believing that criticism was sometimes an unavoidable part of being in the public eye.
However, she said the recent incident had crossed a line, stating that the circulating audio involved what she described as a private conversation recorded years ago without the consent of those involved.
According to Rashmika, only a portion of the conversation had been shared online and presented without context, leading to what she termed a "discomforting controversy." She also stated that the renewed circulation appeared to coincide with developments in her personal life.
The actor further expressed concern that the situation had drawn members of her family and others into the controversy despite having no direct connection to the matter.
Calling the incident an invasion of privacy and the spread of misleading material, Rashmika urged media platforms, influencers and individuals who had shared the clip or related content to remove it.
She added that those circulating the material had been given 24 hours to delete it. If the content continues to be shared beyond that period, she said legal action would be initiated against individuals or platforms involved in distributing what she described as defamatory or privacy-violating material.
Background to the resurfaced audio
Rashmika and Rakshit Shetty first met while working on the 2016 Kannada film Kirik Party. Their engagement was announced in 2017 but ended the following year, with the decision described as mutual at the time.
The resurfaced audio is said to include Suman Mandanna recounting disagreements that allegedly occurred between the two families during the period of the engagement. In the interview, she reportedly spoke about tensions that arose at the time and her concerns about how certain situations unfolded.
Parts of the clip also include her speaking emotionally in Kannada while recalling incidents from that period.
With the recording now circulating widely online, Rashmika's statement marks the first response from the actor since the controversy resurfaced. The issue has generated discussion on social media, while the actor has indicated that legal steps may follow if the content continues to circulate.
