Veerabhadrudu Box Office Collection Day 1 Update: Suriya's Telugu Release Recovers 11% Of Breakeven Target
Veerabhadrudu Box Office Collection: The Telugu version of Karuppu, titled Veerabhadrudu, released along with the Tamil original on May 15 and opened to a steady response at the box office on its first day after being postponed by a day from its original release schedule.

Directed by RJ Balaji, the action drama stars Suriya and Trisha Krishnan in the lead roles, with RJ Balaji also playing a prominent character. The supporting cast includes Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, Mansoor Ali Khan, Swasika, Sshivada, Anagha Maya Ravi, Supreeth Reddy and others.
The film was originally expected to hit theatres on May 14. However, on the eve of release, producer S. R. Prabhu confirmed that the planned early morning shows scheduled for 9 AM would not take place. It was later clarified that the film would miss its initial release date entirely before eventually arriving in cinemas a day later on May 15.
Despite the delay, the Telugu dubbed version reported steady opening-day numbers during its initial hours. According to industry tracker Jerin Georgekutty's post on X shared at 4:39 PM on May 15, the Telugu theatrical rights of Veerabhadrudu were valued at around Rs 7 crore, while the reported breakeven target stood at approximately Rs 7.01 crore share.
As per the update, the film had earned an estimated real-time gross of Rs 1.51 crore in Telugu markets till around 4:30 PM on Day 1, with the distributor share said to be close to Rs 80 lakh. Based on these figures, the film had reportedly recovered around 11.40 percent of its breakeven target during its opening-day shows up to 4:30 PM.
Trade observers are now watching whether the film can maintain momentum through the weekend, especially after the release postponement impacted advance bookings and opening-day schedules in several centres.

Karuppu has been written and directed by RJ Balaji and produced under the banner of Dream Warrior Pictures by S. R. Prakash Babu and S. R. Prabhu, with Aravendraj Baskaran serving as the executive producer. The film's music has been composed by Sai Abhyankkar, while cinematography is handled by G. K. Vishnu and editing by R. Kalaivanan.
The screenplay and writing credits are shared by Ashwin Ravichandran, Rahul Raj, T. S. Gopi Krishnan and Karan Aravind Kumar. Arun Venjaramoodu has worked as the production designer, while the action sequences have been choreographed by Vikram Mor. The film's Telugu dialogues are credited to Rakendu Mouli, with lyrics penned by Kasarla Shyam.
The technical crew also includes choreographers Shobi, Sandy and Anusha Viswanathan, stylist team Praveen Raja, Eka Lakhani and Divya Nagarajan, costume designer Perumal Selvam, and make-up artist Vinoth Sukumaran. Visual effects supervision has been handled by Logaraj, with multiple VFX studios contributing to the project. The audio rights of the film have been acquired by Think Music.
