Aakasame Haddu Review

Director Ravicharan Meripo has brought out a love story with a very good message in the form of Akasame Haddu. It is coming out with a tagline 'Life is greater than Love". The film explains that love is just a part of a life and it is not the life as a whole. Read on for the review.

Story:
Narayana (Rajeev Salur) is a topper in a college. His principal (Rao Ramesh) sponsors him and he gets selected in a campus interview. Once he comes across Priya (Panchi Bora) and loses his heart in first sight. He tries to attract her in different ways but could not succeed in his mission. He neglects his studies and ignores to concentrate on his main project work. At one stage, Priya tells him that he hates him and asks him to die his own death.

At this juncture, Karthik (Navdeep) meets Narayana and start suggesting him that he should prove himself that he truly loves her by concentrating on his studies. Later, Narayana joins a company to do his project work on the advice of Karthik, where Priya also works. Priya befriends with him and moves positively as a good friend. Before going for the final examination, Priya gives him a cover and tells him to open on his birthday as she doesn"t want to meet him and disturb his studies during exam time. What's in the letter? what happens to Karthik? Will Priya accept his love? Answers for these questions form the interesting part of the climax.

Performance:
Navdeep with all his experience in his career has given a decent performance in the film. He has shown a lot of maturity in acting. Rajiv Salur, who played the role of a lover boy, too has done justice to his role. However, he has to improve his body language and facial expressions. Panchi Bora looks cute and glamorous. But she has to learn the basics of acting, as her face is devoid of expressions. Other artistes, including Bhanu Chander as hero"s father, Pragati as hero"s mother, Rao Ramesh as principal, Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam as a hen-pecked husband are good. Those who played the hero"s sidekicks tried their best to tickle the funny bones of audiences.

Technical:
There is not much to talk about the technicians. Cinematography is just above average, while editing is also not so sleek but okay. Music by Mantra Anand is average as there are no foot-tapping songs and are not so appealing. Background score is also on the same lines. The director should be patted for his idea of explaining the real meaning of love with this film. Any true lover should not resort to extreme step of killing himself or turn violent and kill his love. Screenplay in the film is little embarrassing in the first half and it hints that the main story has some link with the cameo (Navdeep).

Remarks:
No doubt, the film is worth watching and at a time when the entire film industry is after glamour and heavy exposure, the director has not tread the same path and has not made the heroine to expose unnecessarily. It is a film that can be watched by the entire family by sitting together. However, as the film lacks any commercial values and with no item numbers or special songs, the success of the film is doubtful.
