Mugguru - Movie Review

By Ramchander

Director VN Aditya had brought excellent movies like Manasanta Nuvve in his early days of his career. However, he has no big hits to his credit in the recent times. Howeverm he approached Ramanaidu and convinced him to produce the film. He chose three small time heroes and heroines for the film and wrapped up the shooting in just 37 days (thereby saving production costs). Read on for Mugguru review.

Story:
There are three vagabonds Pavan (Navadeep), Maruti (Rahul) and Anji (Avasarala Srinivas) who could not even complete their sixth, seventh and eighth standards but reach Vizag in search of jobs. A person (Uttej) tells them that they can"t even get sweeper jobs, as the minimum qualification for is tenth class. He suggest them to marry richman"s daughters and settle in life and that is the only option to become rich overnight. So, Pavan plans to enact a drama and kidnap a rich man with masks and get him saved which enables them to get the job. When they are about to kidnap a rich man (Ahuti Prasad), he gets a stroke and Pavan cleverly plans and admits him in hospital. The man offers Pavan a job in Malaysia. But Pavan refuses to take the job as he doesn"t want to leave his friends to their fate. So, he gives jobs to all the three in his company. He also shows them the videos of his daughters Shalini (Sraddha Das), Yamini (Sanjana) and Mohini (Soumya) and tells them to impress them so that he will get them married to the three. So, Pavan, Maruti and Anji set out to Malaysia to impress them. As expected, the three impress those three and almost their marriages confirms. What happens next should be seen on-screen.

Performance:
Navadeep has done his job well, as he is a seasoned artiste. Rahul yet to learn the basics of acting, while Avasarala Srinivas has done justice to his role with good comedy timing. Shradda Das, Sanjana and Soumya as usual filled the glamour slots and they have not got good opportunity to prove their acting abilities. Reema Sen and Sivaji have played cameos. Brahmanandam, Ali and Ahuti Prasad have done good job.

Technical:
Cinematography by Jawahar Reddy is okay, as he has captured the beautiful locales of Malaysia with his camera. Editor KV Krishna Reddy should have sharpened his scissors to cut some flab in the film, as some scenes appeared quite stretched and unnecessary. It is not known how a senior producer like Ramanaidu accepted the story, as it has so many similarities to Sriramachandrulu. Director VN Aditya, (this time he changed his name as Nagendra V Aditya), has tried to rehash the same story by giving some twists to the subject. Neither the screenplay nor the story is gripping. He has chosen to leave all the logics to the winds and has taken complete cinematic liberty in the film"s movement.

Analysis:
It is just a time pass film but gives you boring feel at parts.
