Naa Peru Siva review

By Ramchander

While the straight films are failing to make the mark, dubbing films have started ruling the roost in Telugu film industry. Films like Rangam and Kanchana have done good business at the Box Office of late. Now, yet another dubbed movie has arrived before the Telugu audiences. Karthi, who has become a familiar name among the Andhra audiences with films like Awara and Yuganiki Okkadu, has played the hero in a successful Tamil film Naan Mahaan Alla and Kajal Agarwal has paired him in the movie. It is being released with the name Naa Peru Siva. Read on for review.

Story:
Jeeva (Karthi) is a guy, who takes the life as it comes. He is the only son of Jayaprakash (Jayaprakash). He once meet Priya (Kajal), daughter of a lawyer, accidentally in a marriage party. Love blossoms between both of them, as they meet each other on several occasions. On the other side, a boy falls in love with a girl and both of them plan to elope. He seeks help from his friend and books Jayaprakash's (Jayaprakash) cab. However, his friends, who are addicted to drugs, rape the girl. In order to avoid police case, cut the girl"s body and throw away.

At this juncture, Jayaprakash complains to the police that he saw two of the boys and tells them that he could recognise them. Fearing trouble, the rapists kills him. Father"s death comes as a shocker to Jeeva and he decides to take revenge against them. How he finds the killers? Will he succed in his mission? What happend to his love? Answers to all these questions to be seen on-screen.

Performance:
Karthi has given a impeccable performance. His energetic acting wins the hearts of the audience in general and front-benchers (mass audiences) in particular. Kajal Agarwal has filled the glamour slot and she has very less scope to perform. However, she has given good support to the hero all through the film. Jayaprakash, who has been playing villain roles, has a positive character in this film, as a doting father. Other artistes including Suri, Lakshmi Ramakrishnan, Neelima, Raviprakash and Rajivan have done justice to their roles.

Technical:
Behind the screen, it is music director Yuvan Shankar Raja, who gets the credit for the success of the film. He has given excellent tunes and most of them are melodious. Not only the tunes, even the background score is impressive. Madhi"s cinematography and Kasi Viswanathan"s editing are perfect and remarkable. Action by Anal Arasu are good and stylish. Most of the action scenes are very natural and the audiences can"t find cinematic stunts in the film. Director Susindran has maintained good tempo all through the film and has made it a good commercial entertainer. Though, he has lost grip on the story after the interval bang, he recoupes it in the climax. The action scene in the climax is ultimate.

Remarks:
Though, the film is quite entertaining, it may not gel well with metro audiences. It is an out and out mass movie and may have a good run in B and C centres. Watch the film for Karthi"s performance and action scenes.
