Pawan
Kalyan"s
last
two
films
–
Puli
and
Teen
Maar
-
were
not
up
to
the
audience
expectations.
The
fans
of
Power
Star
have
now
kept
very
high
hopes
on
Panjaa.
The
names
of
director
Vishnuvardhan
and
music
director
Yuvan
Shankar
Raja
have
added
more
hype
and
the
expectations
of
the
fans
naturally
soared
to
greater
heights.
Let
us
see
how
far
the
director
has
succeeded
in
his
mission.
Story:
The
storyline
is
pretty
simple.
It
is
the
story
of
a
loyal
hit
man
Jaidev
(Pawan
Kalyan).
Jai
works
for
dreaded
don
Bhagawan
(Jackie
Shroff).
Bhagawan
operates
from
Kolkata.
He
also
runs
a
parallel
business
–
a
nursery
in
the
name
of
his
love
interest
Sandhya
(Sara
James
Dias).
Ali
and
Paruchuri
also
work
closely
with
Jai.
Bhagawan
has
a
rival
in
Atul
Kulkarani
and
naturally
there
is
a
constant
war
going
on
between
the
two
groups
for
the
supremacy.
Jai
has
a
childhood
friend
Jahnavi
(Anjali
Lavania).
Bhagawan
has
a
psychopathic
son
Munna
(Adavi
Sesh).
Bhagawan
naturally
has
a
blind
love
for
his
son
and
overlooks
his
violent
ways
and
acts.
Munna
takes
a
fancy
of
Jahnavi
but
she
rejects
his
advances.
An
angry
Munna
kills
Jahnavi.
He
also
kills
Chotu
the
close
friend
of
Jai.
The
furious
Jai
kills
Munna
and
he
is
now
caught
between
his
loyalty
for
Bhagawan
and
the
security
of
his
love
interest
Sandhya.
Jai
wants
to
leave
his
hit
man
job
so
he
goes
away
to
the
native
place
of
Sandhya.
What
happens
next
is
the
basis
for
the
remaining
part
of
the
story.
Positive:
There
are
not
many
positives
in
the
film.
Pawan
Kalyan"s
acting,
his
subtle
underplay
of
emotions
and
cool
chic
look
are
big
positives.
The
cinematography
is
also
a
big
positive.
Music
to
an
extent
is
okay.
Negative:
Wafer-thin
storyline.
Screenplay
and
dialogues.
Lack
of
proper
emotional
depth
of
characters
and
intensity.
Weak
comedy
and
editing.
Picturisation
of
songs.
Too
much
violence.
Analysis:
Director
Vishnuvardhan
has
concentrated
a
lot
on
style
and
has
not
payed
proper
attention
to
the
story
and
screenplay.
The
film
as
a
result
has
turned
out
to
be
way
below
the
expectations
of
the
audiences.
After
Pawan,
it
is
Adavi
Sesh
as
Munna
who
scores
big
on
performance
in
the
film.
Verdict:
Panjaa
is
not
exactly
the
high
voltage
action
and
romantic
entertainer
as
it
was
billed
out
to
be.
It
is
no
way
near
to
the
best
films
of
Pawan
Kalyan.
The
Telugu
movie
is
an
average
film
that
will
not
please
even
the
die
hard
fans
of
the
Power
Star.
