Siva Thandavam Movie Review: A talent show of Vikram

Vikram has rocked Telugu audiences with his films like Aparichitudu, and now he is back with a romantic action movie Siva Thandavam, which also features Jagapathi Babu and Anushka Shetty in leads. With a wonderful story, the film is all the way a show of Chiyaan, who is sure to rock the viewers in Andhra Pradesh again.

Siva Thandavam is a revenge drama with a backdrop of a love story. Vikram's excellent performance is the main highlight of the movie. Beautiful story and screenplay, good camerawork, stunning stunts and action scenes are its other attractions. The dragging narration and uninteresting music are its main drawbacks.

Siva Kumar (Vikram) is a RAW agent and is a very honest and dedicated employee. Soon after getting married to Meenakshi (Anushka), he gets an assignment to hunt down a terrorist group and finds a device, which is very dangerous. Unfortunately, that device is in the hands of one of the terrorists. Hunting the terrorists, Siva leaves for London. As he is searching for the device, he gets trapped and now it is his responsibility to prove his innocence and prove that he is not a traitor. While trying to prove his innocence, he gets caught in a bomb blast and loses both his eyes and also his wife. He is saved by his friends in London, Sarah (Amy Jackson) and a cab driver (Santhanam). Whether he succeeds in his mission or not will form the rest of the story.

Performance: As the title suggests the hero himself has done the Siva Thandavam by taking the entire responsibility of the film on his shoulders. He has given a splendid performance both as a RAW officer and a visually-challenged person. Anushka has filled the glamour slot well and has also done a good job. In fact, Jagapathi Babu's role is also as important as the hero. So, this film could be treated as a multi-character film. Lakshmi Rai and Amy Jackson are in cameo roles and they have played key characters in the film. Santhanam is sure to tickle your funny bones. His comedy coupled with Vikram's comedy is perfect. Nazar and others have also done justice to their respective roles.

Technical: Nirav Sha's camerawork is excellent and his picturisation in beautiful locales in London is superb. GV Prakash Kumar's music is a big let down in the film. Although the music can be enjoyed on screen, they are not so catchy. Director Vijay has chosen a beautiful subject, which is different from regular masala entertainers. The movie has several dragging moments, but viewers may not be able to feel them as they will be carried away by the different twists and turns in the film.

Remarks: Siva Tandavam is just an attempt to showcase the talent of Vikram and director Vijay did his best to entertain the audiences. The success of the film depends on how the audiences will accept the film. But for me, personally, it is another effort of Vikram to showcase his talent in a different subject. The film is worth watching at least for one time.
