Second Hand - Movie Review
BVS Ravi is turning producer with the Telugu film Second Hand, which he has produced jointly with Wanted fame Poorna Naidu. He has made sure that debutante director Kishore Tirumala has a unique and interesting script in place for the film, which is on whole a good attempt. It could have been even better entertainer if the makers had concentrated on the production values of the movie.
Second Hand is a romantic entertainer with a fare amount of comedy quotient. Kishore's brand new love story, engrossing screenplay and good dialogue, lead actors performances, Ravi Chandra's music and background score and beautiful picturisation are the main attractions in the film. The slow-paced narration and absence of the entertainment quotient in the second half are big drawbacks of the movie.
Kishore Tirumala has penned a script, which revolves around three different love story. The director has tried to show three guys' love affairs, breakups and their after effects in Second Hand. He has good grip on the tempo and has nicely brought a logical connection between all these stories. As a debutante, he has committed few mistake, but his efforts are commendable and should be appreciated and encouraged.
The
first
half
of
Second
Hand
has
a
fast-paced
narration
and
the
director
has
made
with
very
entertaining
with
some
funny
dialogues
and
romantic
moments.
But
the
movie
hits
the
rough
patch
in
the
second
half,
where
the
pace
slows
down
besides
lacking
entertainment
values.

Santosh-Deepu's Love Story
Santosh (Sudheer Varma) is an budding photographer, who falls in love with Deepu (Dhanya Balakrishnan). Instead of taking his business serious, he madly goes after her. At this juncture, Deepu, who gets a marriage proposal from an NRI dumps him.
Subba-Swecha's Love Story
On the other hand, we have Subba Rao (Kireeti Damaraju), who is a serious guy and has qualities of a gentleman. He decides to marry Swecha (Dhanya Balakrishnan). Despite Swecha revealing her old love affair, he goes forward to wed her. But an interesting twist causes breakup between the two.
Chaitu-Sahashra's Love Story
In another story, Sahashra (Dhanya Balakrishnan) is a software professional, who is staying with Siddu in a flat. Here enters Chaitu (Vishnu Vardhan). Impressed with his character, Sahashra falls in love with Chaitu. But she is torn between her friend and a lover. How Dr Posani Krishna Murali brings a logical end to all these stories forms the crux of the story.
Dhanya's Performance
Dhanya Balakrishna has played different role in the movie and she has done justice to all of them. In fact, her performance is the main attraction in Second Hand. Her chemistry with all three heroes is superb and impresses the film goers. She is the showgirl in the movie.
Others' Performances
Sudheer Varma, Kireeti Damaraju and Vishnu Vardhan, who have played male leads in Second Hand, have also delivered brilliant performance. Dr Posani Krishna Murali and others have also done justice to their roles.
Production Values
Second Hand has been made with a shoe-string budget and when compared to its investment, the movie has decent production elements. Ravi Chandra's music and background score, good cinematography and choreography of songs and funny dialogues are major attractions in the technical front.
Second Hand Verdict
Overall, Second Hand is a wonderful effort by debutante Kishore Tirumala, who has done brilliant work in scripting and direction. If he had done more home work on second half, the film would have been more entertaining.
