Did
Suriya's
Rakshasudu
live
up
to
the
blockbuster
talk
of
Chiranjeevi's
80's
Rakshasudu?
You
got
to
read
this
review
to
know.
Rakshasudu
Story:
It
is
a
story
of
revenge
laced
around
horror
and
comedy.
Rakshasudu
tracks
to
how
and
why
Suriya
gets
to
see
spirits.
Does
he
posses
any
unique
powers?
What
is
the
connection
between
him
and
that
special
wraith
Suriya
meets
in
the
process?
What
Suriya
does
for
that
special
someone,
forms
the
story.
Performances:
Whoa!
Suriya
can
also
do
this?
It's
quite
a
revelation
for
Suriya.
He
gets
to
showcase
his
acting,
comedy
and
action
prowess
in
this
two
layered
characterization.
He
surprises
you
with
idiosyncratic
gesticulations
though
the
dubbing
feels
bit
loud
at
times.
Nayanatara
hardly
gets
any
screen
time
while
Pranitha
Subash
fill
the
gaps.
Premgiamaran
and
Prathiban
make
their
presence
felt.
Technical
Aspects:
Venkat
Prabhu,
who
is
known
to
serve
a
racy
screen
play,
failed
to
produce
his
mark
in
Rakshasudu
though
it
is
pretty
engaging.
Few
high
moments
in
the
film
comes
as
a
savior
in
the
otherwise
formulaic
film.
The
film
has
its
traces
from
a
recently
released
Telugu
flick
and
it
is
also
loosely
inspired
from
an
English
film,
The
Frighteners.
Though
the
songs
failed
to
create
any
impact,
Yuvan
Shankar
Raja's
background
music
has
made
the
director's
job
easy.
Poor
CG
work
is
a
big
let
down.
Verdict:
Despite
its
flaws,
Venkat
Prabhu
made
a
perfect
potboiler
with
a
great
mix
of
mass
elements
and
entertainment.
One
to
mention,
it's
a
Suriya's
show
all
the
way
and
the
special
bonus
makes
it
worth
a
watch.
Introduction
Film
opens
up
with
a
bang
and
Pawan
Kalyan
reference
impresses
masses.
High
In
Masss
10
minutes
into
the
film,
you
are
already
energized
with
the
mass
elements.
Nayanatara
She
appears
hardly
in
5
scenes.
Disappointing
flick
for
her
fans.
Brahmanandam
Nayantara-Suriya
track
though
is
short,
it
is
sweet
and
Brahmanandam
makes
an
appearance.
Comedy
One
liners
did
not
work
in
favor
of
the
film,
which
a
big
drawback.
Venkat
Prabhu
Venkat
Prabhu's
mark,
high
octane
interval
bang
makes
it
an
interesting
watch.
Music
Yuvan's
music
is
a
huge
add
on
for
this
horror
comedy.
He
makes
it
engaging
with
his
amazing
back
ground
score.
Climax
Flash
reveals
the
show
and
Suriya's
action
with
some
traces
of
comedy
at
the
end
is
a
treat
to
watch.
