The
much
awaited
flick
of
the
season
Kabali
starring
Rajinikanth
and
Radhika
Apte
has
hit
screens
today.

our
take
on
the
film.
Story:
Rajinikanth
plays
Kabali,
as
an
aged
gangster,
who
spends
25
years
of
his
life
in
a
jail
in
Malaysia.
Why
is
he
locked
up
for
such
a
long
time?
What's
the
story
behind
his
long-lost
wife?
What
did
he
do
after
returning
from
jail?
This
forms
the
crux
of
the
story.

Audience
Review/Public
Response
Performances:
Rajinikanth
delivered
what
he
is
best
at.
His
impeccable
style,
mannerisms
and
the
splendid
styling
in
the
film
were
enough
to
make
you
sit
through
Kabali.
Radhika
Apte
got
into
the
shoes
of
her
role
and
has
done
complete
justice
to
what
she
was
offered.
Technical
Aspects
&
Analysis:
Director
PA
Ranjith
seems
to
have
lost
a
balance
in
managing
Rajini's
over-the-top
image
and
the
story
he
wants
to
convey.
The
middle-path
he
has
chose
was
boiled
down
to
a
boring
narrative,
with
so
many
elements
forcibly
stuffed.
Radhika
Apte's
character
can
totally
be
excluded
from
the
film
as
it
lacked
any
impact
and
in
fact,
it
was
too
dramatic.
The
film
at
portions
reminded
us
of
Amitabh
Bacchan's
Mahaan.
On
the
positive
side,
a
few
elevation
scenes
written
on
Kabali
resonated
Rajini's
real
life
aura,
making
us
instantly
connect
to
what
is
happening
on-screen.
The
story
was
fast
paced,
though
it
failed
to
please.
Overview:
Thanks
to
editor
Praveen
for
cutting
an
awesome
teaser
of
Kabali,
which
has
actually
created
a
lot
of
hype
around
the
film,
other
than
the
'Rajinikanth'
factor.
But,
after
watching
the
film
you
cant
help
but
hate
him
for
making
you
believe
something
that
Kabali
is
not.
The
film
surely
had
its
share
of
moments.
So,
maybe
lowering
your
expectations
a
little
might
help.
