Srinivasa Kalyanam Review: An Out And Out Family Drama With A Good Visual Experience

The last time when producer Dil Raju was super-confident about his product, Bommarillu happened. He was excited and assertive at the same time about Srinivasa Kalyanam and it was pretty evident during the promotional functions of the movie. Featuring an ensemble cast with rich production values, would the Nithiin-Raashi starrer movie be successful in pulling the audience into the theatres? Read to know our verdict.

Vasu (Nithiin) meets Sreedevi (Raashi Khanna) who falls in love after a couple of sequences into the movie. While Vasu is a staunch believer of family values like his grandmother (Jayasudha), Raashi's father, RK (Prakash Raj), a rich and a flamboyant entrepreneur, contradicts with the ideology and is not attached to family emotions and its values.

Both, Vasu and Raj, reach a stage of agreement into marriage but with a condition each from either ends, which will be kept under wraps from the family members until the wedding ceremony. What is the agreement between the supposed Mama and Alludu? When will the secret be unfolded? What finally transpires? All these form the rest of the plot.

The collective casting of Prakash Raj, Jayasudha, Naresh, Rajendra Prasad, etc., and the others is a huge boost to the movie, as they all look amazing and add weightage to the flick. Performances by all the actors are commendable. The senior audience might feel nostalgic about the storyline and the line of actors, as the experience would date them back to their early days of theatrical viewing scenes of vintage movies.

Nithiin and Raashi look adorable and form to be a great pair on-screen. After a string of flops, Nithiin has pinned a lot of hopes on Srinivasa Kalyanam, while Raashi is looking to hit two in a row after Tholi Prema.

Praveen, Satyam Rajesh and Vidyullekha Raman have rendered justice in the comedy segment, while yesteryear heroines, Amani and Sithara, have chipped in with their share of performances.

Both Dil Raju and director Vegesna Sathish are known for their feel-good ventures. Their previous blockbuster, Shatamanam Bhavathi, won a national award for its making, and Srinivasa Kalyanam too is not left behind in its feel-good mark.

Though the first half looks a bit pale in comparison to the second half, the movie as an overall experience is a treat to watch. Dialogues are one of the main takeaways of the movie, which focus and build more on family values. However, the younger generation of audience might find it too preachy and may not get connected with the director's thought.

Cinematography is another good aspect of the movie with captivating visuals that are complimented well with the rich production values. Music by Mickey J Meyer adds a feather to the cap of the movie.

Srinivasa Kalyanam has turned out to be a typical Telugu family entertainer which is devoid of action, extreme love and forced comedy. This Srinivasa Kalyanam can be attended in numbers with the entire family for a good feast and visual experience.
