Mahaveerudu, Sivakarthikeyan's latest fantasy action film hit the screens all over the world in Tamil and Telugu on July 14. The movie is directed by Madonne Ashwin, who won a National Award for his previous film Mandela, starring Yogi Babu.

Ahead of the film's huge theatrical release, the makers of the film engaged the fans of the actor and the movie lovers with an interesting trailer. After the trailer has come out, expectations of the film increased manifold.

The movie's Telugu released delayed due to several technical and license issues. The shows until noon were cancelled and eventually by the second-half of July 14, Mahaveerudu released in the two Telugu-speaking states.

Maverick director S Shankar's daughter Aditi Shankar was roped in as the female lead opposite Sivakarthikeyan. Upon its release, the movie was reviewed as a decent action flick.

The movie is a political action thriller in which the protagonist comes across as a meek person living with his mother and sister. He is a cartoonist and surprisingly, his drawings start to manifest in real-life. He gets involved in a tricky political situation with the minister.
