Matka X (Twitter) Review: After a bunch of box office disasters, Varun Tej, one of the mega heroes, hit the big screens with a period gangster drama titled Matka. Based on the life of Ratan Khetri, a gambler, the crime action film was written and directed by Karuna Kumar, who is making his directorial debut. The movie was released worldwide in Telugu with heavy competition with Suriya's Kanguva. The bookings for Varun Tej's film were also very low.
Upon its theatrical release, Varun Tej's film is getting mixed to negative reactions although fans and movie goers are in awe of the period get ups and the actor's ease with the character.
