With this feat, it became the first Mollywood film ever to cross the ₹300 crore mark globally. Adding to its historic achievement, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra also stands out as India’s first female-led superhero film, marking a major milestone not just for Malayalam cinema but for Indian cinema as a whole.
Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan delivered a spectacular box-office run, crossing ₹268 crore in global collections. Helmed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, the film continues the saga of the 2019 hit Lucifer. Backed by a stellar ensemble including Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Indrajith Sukumaran, the film spans multiple international locations, was released in five languages, and made its OTT debut on JioHotstar on April 24, 2025
Mohanlal has made history by becoming the only Malayalam actor to deliver two ₹100 crore net grossers for Mollywood at the Indian box office in a single year. On the global front, Thudarum has amassed an impressive estimated gross of ₹209.99 crore within just 18 days, including ₹119.94 crore from India and ₹90.05 crore from overseas markets.
