Kohrra

Barun Sobti plays Assistant Sub-Inspector Amarpal Garundi in the critically acclaimed crime thriller Kohrra. In the first season, he appears as a young and impulsive officer working under SI Balbir Singh, and his performance was widely praised for its depth and realism. He returns in season two, which premiered on February 11, 2026, where his character now works under a new commanding officer, Dhanwant Kaur. The gritty police procedural is created by Sudip Sharma, Gunjit Chopra, and Diggi Sisodia.

Raat Jawan Hai

Barun Sobti starred as Avinash (Avi) in the 2024 SonyLIV comedy-drama Raat Jawaan Hai, a series about three friends navigating the ups and downs of modern parenthood. Directed by Sumeet Vyas, the show premiered on October 11, 2024, and also featured Anjali Anand and Priya Bapat. Sobti’s performance earned him the Filmfare OTT Award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series in December 2025, which he shared with Sparsh Shrivastava.

Rakshak: India’s Braves

In Rakshak – India’s Braves (Chapter 2, 2024), Barun Sobti portrays real-life hero Naib Subedar Sombir Singh of the Indian Army’s Jat Regiment, who was posthumously awarded the Shaurya Chakra. The chapter focuses on the Kulgam Operation, showing the joint mission led by Sombir Singh and DYSP Aman Kumar Thakur to neutralise terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. To prepare for the role, Sobti underwent rigorous physical training and met the soldier’s family to understand the emotional depth of the character. The series is available on Amazon MX Player.

Badtameez Dil

In the 2023 romantic drama series Badtameez Dil, Barun Sobti plays Karan Singh Rathod, a cynical and modern man with unconventional views on relationships. The show, which premiered on Amazon miniTV (now Amazon MX Player), follows his dynamic with Liz, played by Ridhi Dogra, a hopeless romantic who believes in old-school love. Karan is portrayed as charming, opinionated, and emotionally guarded, often clashing with Liz’s traditional outlook, while their relationship forms the heart of the 10-episode first season.

Asur

In the crime thriller series Asur: Welcome to Your Dark Side, Barun Sobti plays Nikhil Nair, a former CBI forensic expert who later becomes a teacher at the FBI. His character is drawn into a tense cat-and-mouse game with a serial killer, forming the core of the show’s gripping narrative. The series premiered in 2020 on Voot and returned with a second season in 2023 on JioCinema, with reports suggesting a third season is in development.
