5 Exciting Malayalam Comedy Films Set To Release In 2026

Madhuvidhu, starring Sharafudheen, is all set to hit theatres on February 6, 2026. The film is directed by debutant Vishnu Aravind and introduces Kalyani Panicker, daughter of veteran actress Bindu Panicker, in her first lead role.

Apart from Sharafudheen and Kalyani Panicker, the movie features Jagadish, Azees Nedumangad, Saikumar, Sreejaya, Amal Jose, and Sanju Madhu. With music by Hesham Abdul Wahab, cinematography by Viswajith Odukkathil, and editing by Christy Sebastian, the film promises warmth, humor, and wholesome entertainment for the entire family.

Athiradi is blending action, comedy, and the spirit of friendship. Along with Basil, the film brings together Tovino Thomas and Vineeth Sreenivasan in the lead roles, creating strong excitement among audiences. The movie also features Sarvam Maya fame Riya Shibu as one of the female leads.

Prakambanam, starring Ganapathi and Sagar Surya, is one of the most anticipated comedy films of 2026. Directed by Vijesh Panathur and scripted by Sreehari Vadakkan, the movie also features Mallika Sukumaran, Azees Nedumangad, P P Kunhikrishnan, Aneesh Gopal, and Sanesh Guinness in prominent roles.

Produced by Sreejit KS, Kaarthikeyan S, and Sudhish N under Navarasa Films, the project is made in collaboration with Tamil filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj’s Stone Bench Studio, promising a fun-filled cinematic experience.

The makers of Jayasurya-starrer Aadu 3 have officially announced that the film will release in theatres on March 19, 2026. Written and directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas, the film continues the hugely popular cult franchise that began with Aadu in 2015. Produced by Vijay Babu’s Friday Film House in association with Venu Kunnappilly’s Kavya Films, Aadu 3 brings back a familiar and much-loved ensemble cast. The film sees the return of Vinayakan, Vijay Babu, Saiju Kurup, Indrans, Aju Varghese, Srinda, Sunny Wayne, Bhagath Manuel, Sudhy Kopa, and Bijukuttan, among others.
