5 Upcoming Malayalam Rom-Coms That’ll Steal Your Heart

Nivin Pauly is set to return to the big screen with the romantic comedy ‘Sarvam Maya’, directed by Akhil Sathyan. This musical rom-com features Preity Mukhundhan as the female lead opposite Nivin Pauly. Aju Varghese also plays a prominent role in the film, which is produced by Ajayyakumar and Rajeev Menon under the banner Fire Fly Films, in association with Akhil Sathyan’s own production label.

Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira, one of the most anticipated Malayalam films of the year, is set to release in theatres on August 29, 2025. Starring Fahadh Faasil, Kalyani Priyadarshan, and Revathi Pillai, the film is produced by Ashiq Usman. On the technical front, the film features a skilled crew with Jinto George on cinematography, Nidhin Raj Arol handling editing, and Justin Varghese composing the music.

Hridhu Haroon and Preethi Mukundan’s upcoming romantic film Maine Pyar Kiya is all set to release during the festive season of Onam. It becomes the first Onam release of the year to confirm its release date. Also lined up for Onam are Mohanlal-Sathyan Anthikad’s Hridyapoorvam and Fahadh Faasil’s Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira.

Mandakini actors Althaf Salim and Anarkali Marikar are reuniting for their upcoming film titled Innocent, directed by debutant Satheesh Thanvi. Touted as a comedy entertainer, the film is co-written by Satheesh Thanvi, Sarji Vijayan, and Shihab Karunagappally, who also penned the story. Innocent is produced by M Sreeraj AKD under the banner Elements of Cinema, with Dixon Pothudas, Najumudeen, and directors Ajai Vasudev and G Marthandan serving as executive producers.

This rom-com starring Sharafudheen and Anupama Parameswaran, is directed by debutant Praneesh Vijayan and produced by Sharafudheen himself. The film features music by Premam-fame Rajesh Murugesan, cinematography by Anend C Chandran, and editing by Abhinav Sunder Nayak.
