6 Box-Office Failure Mollywood Movies In The First Quarter Of 2023

After success of Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam , Megastar Mammotty who appeared in a police officer role in the movie. The film had opened to a poor start, as it turned out to be average movie at the box-office. The first half of the movie, which grabbed  the audience attention. But the second part of the movie, we can also predicts what will happen on next. Mammotty 's swagger movements and screen presence are only the major highlights of the movie. The film also marks the Kollywood actress Sneha's  re-entry to Malayalam cinema. Directed by B.Unnikrishnan, the film also featured Sneha, Amala Paul, Vinay Rai and Aiswarya Lekshmi. Unlike his earlier release, this flick did not attract the audience to theater.

Directed by debutant Adhil Maimoonath Asharaf, the film tells the story of a two chiildhood  sweethearts who unexpectedly meet againd after their break-up. Like a complete romantic movie, it reminds you that some relationships are special in life. Actors Shahrafudheen and Bhavan in lead roles, the film marks comeback of actress to Malayalam film industry after a long time.  It is a one-time watchable movie, which lacks humour and funny elements in the story plot.

The film 'Alone' was an experimental film all set to change the world of Mollywood cinema. Made up with a big budget the film failed to attract the audience. Super Star Mohanlal who appears in a titular role in the movie. The film was released in theaters on 26th January, had only collected below Rs 75 lakhs on the opening day. As per the reports, the movie turned out to be a biggest disaster of 2023.

Directed by Aamir Pallikkal, the film is a complete biopic of NiNilambur Ayisha, the first Muslim woman in Kerala to act in plays and films. Based on a true incidents, the film featured lady superstar Manju Warrier in lead role. Written by Ashif Kakkodi and produced by Zakariya Mohamed, the film uses high cinematic elements to  accentuate the actress character. But it failed to attract the audience due to various reason.

According the box-office report, the film 'Christy' has only managed to collect in below Rs 15 lakhs at the box office after the two days of its big release. Directed by Alvin Henry, the film featured Malavika Mohanan and Mathew Thomas in lead roles. Like a rom-com drama, which tells the story of a boy who falls in love a lady, who is older than him. The film also marks comeback of actress Malavika Mohanan to the Malayalam film industry. It also featured Joy Mathew, Sibi Thomas and Vineeth Vishwam in prominent roles.

The film 'Oh My Draling' marks the lead debut of actress Anikha Surendran. Like a romantic comedy, the film carries cliched emotional secnes and ideas which makes the audience to watch the movie in boring way. Directed by Alfred D Samuel, the film was one of the biggest disater movies this year.
