The actor made a surprise announcement about his reunion with popular filmmaker Shaji Kailas last year. After their last collaboration in 2009 with 'Red Chillies', the duo is reuniting after 12 years for a thriller movie named 'Alone'. Shaji Kailas is a well-known director in the industry who has directed many superhit Mohanlal films in the past. Delivering many action-thrillers and masala entertainment hits, he became a favourite among movie buffs. Shaji Kailas' Aaram Thampuran is one of the best-loved movies he has ever directed. Featuring Mohanlal and Manju Warrier in the lead roles, the film ran for more than 250 consecutive days in theatres, grossing over 7.5 crores while breaking several records.
