Amitabh Bachchan Is Now India’s Highest-Paid Host: Here’s Top 5 Ranked

Amitabh Bachchan is all set to return with the 17th season of his iconic quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati. The legendary actor has been the face of the show since it began in 2000, except for Season 3, which was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan. For KBC 17, he is reportedly charging a staggering ₹5 crore per episode, solidifying his position as India’s highest-paid TV host.

Salman Khan, the Dabangg star, was reportedly paid around ₹12 crore per episode for Weekend Ka Vaar during Bigg Boss OTT 2, amounting to an estimated ₹24 crore per week. Interestingly, despite the massive paycheck, Salman only shoots for two days a week, making him one of the most highly paid weekend hosts on Indian television.

Allegedly, comedy king Kapil Sharma charges a whopping ₹5 crore per episode for The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix. Known for his impeccable comic timing and ability to draw top celebrities, Kapil continues to dominate the comedy space, making him one of the highest-paid TV personalities in India.

Director Rohit Shetty, known for his blockbuster action films, also commands a hefty fee as a television host. For hosting the popular reality stunt show Khatron Ke Khiladi, he reportedly earns around ₹50 lakh per episode. 

Next on the list is filmmaker Karan Johar, who reportedly charges between ₹2 to ₹3 crore per episode for his celebrity talk show Koffee With Karan. With its glamorous set, spicy conversations, and A-list guests, the show has become a pop culture phenomenon, and Karan’s hosting style plays a major role in its popularity and high TRP ratings.
