Bhairavam Movie Story Plot

In Devipuram, Gajapathi (Manchu Manoj), belonging to a once-prestigious zamindar family, struggles with poverty despite his respected status in the village. His closest friends, Varadha (Nara Rohith), a dominant local figure, and Sreenu (Bellamkonda Sreenivas), an orphan loved like a son by the villagers, share a deep bond with him. Gajapathi’s grandmother (Jayasudha) serves as the temple trustee. A corrupt minister (Sharath Lohitashwa) plots to seize the temple lands, exploiting Gajapathi’s financial struggles by luring him with money.

The story unfolds with questions surrounding why Sreenu, though an orphan, is treated like family, how his love story with Vennela (Aditi Shankar) develops, and how Gajapathi’s wife Neelima (Anandhi) pressures him to change. Tensions arise as the minister manipulates the trio’s friendship. Why did Gajapathi, who values his friends deeply, turn against them? What misunderstandings caused conflict among Gajapathi, Varadha, and Sreenu? Bhairavam answers these questions through a mix of emotional drama, action, and betrayal.

Bhairavam Artist Performance

Bellamkonda Sreenivas stands as the emotional backbone of the film, delivering a mature and impactful performance. He effectively portrays the emotional intensity required for his role, especially during the pre-climax and climax scenes. His chemistry with co-stars Manoj and Rohith adds depth to the friendship dynamics.

Manchu Manoj makes a solid comeback with a powerful role, showcasing his range and screen presence as Gajapathi. Despite a brief hiatus, he marks a striking re-entry. Nara Rohith brings elegance and restraint to the role of Varadha, maintaining a perfect emotional balance throughout. Jayasudha’s role is limited, but her screen presence remains strong. Anandhi, as Neelima, goes beyond glamour, playing a pivotal role in moving the story forward. Divya Pillai, as Varadha’s wife Poornima, contributes emotionally to the film. However, Vennela Kishore’s comedy doesn’t land effectively, while supporting actors like Sampath Raj, Sharath, and Ajay leave a mark with their brief but notable performances.

Bhairavam Technical Aspects

Bhairavam Technical Aspects

Director Vijay Kanakamedala presents Bhairavam with solid commercial instincts, focusing on friendship, betrayal, and action. While the core story is familiar, his attempt to retell it with a unique touch deserves credit, though some narrative choices slightly derail the flow.

Among the technicians, Sri Charan Pakala’s music is a major asset. His background score elevates key sequences, while songs like the introduction number, the Sankranti celebration track, and the “Vennela” and “Gichchu Gichchu” songs provide strong energy both on audio and visuals. Hari K. Vedantham’s cinematography beautifully captures the village setting, enhancing the authenticity of the film. KK Radhamohan’s production is top-notch, ensuring high-quality visuals and solid technical standards. However, the content could have been sharper, which would’ve elevated the film to a top-tier mass entertainer.

Why You Should Watch Bhairavam

Why You Should Watch Bhairavam

Bhairavam is the official Telugu remake of the Tamil hit Garudan. It blends multiple emotions friendship, betrayal, love, and action into a mass-friendly narrative. While some emotional beats fall short and song placements slightly affect the narrative flow, the action sequences and strong performances from the lead trio compensate for these flaws.

If you're a fan of high-voltage dramas with strong male bonding and stylish action, Bhairavam is worth a watch, especially for the performances of Bellamkonda Sreenivas, Manchu Manoj, and Nara Rohith. Despite a familiar storyline, the attempt to deliver it in a fresh, emotional, and action-packed format makes it a decent one-time watch.
