Get Ready For These Malayalam Horror Thrillers Releasing Soon

An upcoming horror comedy drama directed by Noufal Abdullah brings together Mathew Thomas, Roshan Shanavas, and Sarath Sabha in the lead roles. The screenplay is penned by Jyothish M and Sunu AV, while the film is produced by Abbas Thirunavaya, Sajin Ali, and Dipen Patel under the banner of A & HS Productions. The technical crew includes Abhilash Shankar as the cinematographer, Yakzan Gary Pereira and Neha S Nair as music composers, with Noufal Abdullah himself handling the editing. Night Riders will be hit the theaters on October 10, 2025.

Malayalam cinema is stepping into new territory with Manjeswaram Mafia, the industry’s first zombie film! Directed by Albi Paul and backed by producers Tippushan and Shiyas Hassan under the Indian Cinema Company, this film offers a refreshing mix of horror, drama, action, thrills, and humor, all set within a unique cultural landscape. The screenplay is crafted by Abhilash S Nair and Ajith Nair.

Jagathy Sreekumar makes a comeback as Professor Ambili, aka Uncle Lunar, in Arun Chandu’s Vala. The film unfolds around a gripping storyline where a rare virus transforms people into zombies. Scheduled for a 2026 release, the project is co-written by Arun Chandu and Tyler Durden, and produced by Turtle Vine Productions in association with Letters Entertainments. On the technical side, the team includes Surjith S Pai as cinematographer, Ceejay Achu as editor, and Sankar Sharma handling the music.

Dies Irae, helmed by acclaimed horror filmmaker Rahul Sadasivan of Bhoothakaalam and Bramayugam fame, stars Pranav Mohanlal in the lead. Produced by Night Shift Studios and YNOT Studios, the film is scheduled for a Halloween 2025 release. On the technical side, Shehnad Jalal handles cinematography, Shafique Mohamed Ali takes charge of editing, and Christo Xavier composes the music.

Directed by Rojin Thomas, Kathanar reimagines the legend of Kadamattathu Kathanar, with Jayasurya portraying the mystical priest endowed with supernatural powers. Backed by Sree Gokulam Movies, the film is mounted as a grand pan-India project, with much of it shot using advanced virtual production technology. Boasting cutting-edge visual effects and a stellar cast including Anushka Shetty, Prabhudeva, and Sandy Master, it is touted as one of Malayalam cinema’s most ambitious ventures. The technical crew features Neil D Cunha as cinematographer, Jungjin Park as action choreographer, and Rahul Subrahmanian Unni as music director.
