Ground Zero Moves to This OTT Platform: Streaming Date Confirmed with a Catch

Emraan Hashmi’s action-thriller Ground Zero, based on a real-life BSF operation led by Deputy Commandant Dubey, had its theatrical release on April 25, 2025. For its digital release, the streaming rights have been acquired by Amazon Prime Video, film is streaming but here’s a catch. You can watch Ground Zero on rent. 

Ground Zero follows BSF Deputy Commandant Narendra Nath Dubey (Emraan Hashmi) as he embarks on a two-year mission in early 2000s Kashmir to dismantle a deadly terror cell. When a radical "pistol gang" linked to the notorious Rana Tahir Nadeem—aka Ghazi Baba—begins targeting security forces, Dubey uses intelligence and local support to uncover and intercept their network. The story builds to a high-stakes showdown with Ghazi Baba, portraying not just the tactical drama but the emotional and moral weight of duty and sacrifice faced by the officer 

Ground Zero, directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar and starring Emraan Hashmi, underperformed at the box office, earning around ₹10.35 crore worldwide. Despite its strong premise and favorable reviews from critics, the film struggled to attract audiences and managed to recover only a fraction of its production budget.

In an interview with Zoom, Emraan Hashmi reflected on his experience shooting Ground Zero in Kashmir, sharing that it was his first visit to Srinagar. “We’ve all seen postcard pictures of the lake, and stepping into Srinagar felt like watching those postcards come to life,” he said. Hashmi added that the 30–40 days of filming were made memorable and smooth thanks to the unwavering support from both the BSF and the local community.
