The film Hamnet is set to make its OTT streaming debut on March 6, 2026, exclusively on Peacock in the United States. The release comes just days before the 98th Academy Awards on March 15, where the film has emerged as a major contender with eight nominations, including Best Picture. 

Hamnet tells the emotional story of William Shakespeare and his wife Anne Hathaway, focusing on the tragic loss of their 11-year-old son, Hamnet. The story is mostly shown through Agnes, a caring and strong woman who supports William as he goes to London to follow his dream in theatre while she raises their children in Stratford-upon-Avon. When the plague reaches the town, Hamnet’s sudden death changes their lives forever and later inspires Shakespeare’s famous play Hamlet.
