Happy B'Day Taapsee Pannu: Check Out Her Journey From Being A Model To A Successful Actress

Tapsee Pannu was born in Delhi, India into a Punjabi Sikh family to parents Dilmohan Singh Pannu and Nirmaljeet. She is the eldest child in her family and also has a sister, Shagun Pannu. Like Priyanka Chopra, this actress also doesn't have any filmy background but she is the only actor in the industry who are consistent in their work to achieve success.

Before entering the glamour industry, Taapsee finished her graduation in Computer Science from Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology, New Delhi. She was a software engineer before becoming an actress. Later she left her job because she realized that is not her destination.

The actress started focus on doing modelling after she left the job. As a model, Tapsee also appeared in many Tv ads and commercials. She also attended Channel V's talent show 'Get Gorgeous' in 2018. She later participated at Femina Miss India 2008 pageant at the age of 20 and even though she did not win the national pageant. But she had received two titles ‘Femina Miss Fresh Face’ and ‘Femina Miss Beautiful Skin in the same year.

Initially a model, she started her acting career with the Telugu film Jhummandi Naadam in 2010. Tapsee, who became much popular among audiences after her performance in the National Award-winning Tamil movie 'Aadukalam'. The movie received a good response from the audience, and Dhanush and Tapsee's chemistry was fondly appreciated by movie lovers and critics. Apart from this, Tapsee also made her debut in Malayalam cinema in 2010 release 'Doubles'. Her another notables performances include Kanchana, Arrambam, Mr.Perfect, and Political Rowdy.  

After building a successful acting career life in South Indian Cinema, Tapsee made her Bollywood debut with the successful comedy Chashme Baddoor in 2013, The film was an official remake of the 1981 film with the same title, alongside Siddharth, Rishi Kapoor, Divyendu Sharma and Ali Zafar. She has gained attention of audience by essaying versatile roles on the big-screen. Over the past decades, she delivered several blockbuster hits in Hindi includes Looop Lapeta, Rashmi Rocket, Badla, Mission Mangal, Haseen Dillruba and Thappad.

She has received numerous awards and appreciation for her outstanding performance on the screen. Tapsee won Best Supporting Actress Film Fare Award in 2014 for the Tamil movie 'Arrambam'. Later, she received the Filmfare Critics Award and the Screen Award for Best Actress for the movie ' Saand Ki Aankh (2019).For her stupendous performance in the movie 'Thappad', Tapsee bagged the Best Actress award at the 66th Filmfare Awards in 2021.

On the professional front, she will be next seen in the three Hindi films, Dunki, Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba, and 'Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan, which are to be released. Apart from this, Tapsee will be essaying a lead role in the upcoming Tamil movie 'Alien'.
