Born in Kerala, Adah Sharma who moved to Mumbai along with her family when she was a kid. Adah's Father SL Sharma, was a captain in the Indian Merchant Navy and hailed from Tamil Nadu while her mother was a yoga teacher, deeply rooted in Kerala.

Adah who left her studies when she was studying at 10 standard. After completing her schooling she decided to follow her passion as an actress. But her parents, who forced her to complete higher secondary studies. After completing plus two, she had worked as a gymnast for a quite time.

Apart from being an actress, Adah Sharma is also a trained Kathak dancer. She earned a bachelor's degree in the classical dance form 'Kathak' from Gopi Krishna's Dance Academy in Lucknow and Jaipur. With her stunning performances in the music video 'Tu Yaad Aya', Adah gained the attention of audience.

She made her Bollywood debut in 2009 with '1920'.  Directed by Bhushan Patel, the film featured  Rajneesh Duggal  and Adah Sharma in the lead roles. Later she played a supporting role in the movies like Hasee Toh Phasee and Commando 3. Apart from acting in the Hindi cinema, Adah also acted in several movies in Telugu such as S/O Satyamurthy, and Kshanam.

Directed by Sudipto Sen, The Kerala Story was released in theatres on May 5, had became a hot-topic on social media. Later  there were calls to ban the film in a few states including West Bengal and Tamil Nadu. Starring Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Siddhi Idnani and Sonia Balani in lead roles , the film had collected Rs 50 crores at the box-office on its fifth day of release.
