In Tamil Nadu's Kinathukadavu region of the Coimbatore district, Lokesh Kanagaraj was born on March 14, 1986. He was born to Sunitha and Parameshwaran. Ashwin Venkatesh, Aravind Gnanasambandam, and Prashanth Gnanasambandam are his three brothers. He got engaged to Aishwarya Lokesh on September 15, 2011, and a year later, on January 8, 2012, the couple wed. On their wedding anniversary, the baby was born, and they were blessed with a baby girl named Adhvika Lokesh."
Loki is a former student at Coimbatore Campus's PSG College of Arts and Sciences. Following his graduation from fashion technology, he pursued an MBA at Anna University. In Anamalai, Pollachi attended PMHS for his schooling. He was an imaginative storyteller and a devoted Kamal Hasan admirer during his time in high school and college. In addition to that, he never attended film school and never grew as a filmmaker.
He has worked in the private sector as a bank employee after receiving his education. He didn't enjoy the way he continued with his life. Though he took the initiative in the film sector when he was working in the bank. In 2016, he was given the chance to direct a feature film. As a result, he boosted his personality and entered the film industry.
By taking part in a commercial short film contest, he explored his passion for filmmaking. His career-defining short film, "Aviyal," released in 2016, was an anthology film where he displayed his special, individual talent. The final competition's judge, Karthik Suburaj, encouraged Lokesh to make constant films in his future.
