He subsequently held positions as a sub-editor and Features Editor for The Hindu. Afterward, he relocated to the Middle East, where he worked in various media organization for several years. In 2012, he made his foray into the film industry with a role in the movie 'Rasikan', directed by Laljose.

Murali embarked on his cinematic journey with a standout antagonist role in the Lal Jose film 'Rasikan' in 2012. This debut left a lasting impression on audiences. Transitioning seamlessly, he then took on lead roles, notably starring alongside Mohanlal in 'Bhramaram'.
