HBD Ekta Kapoor: A Look Back At Her Incredible Journey From Small Screen To Big Screen

Born in a filmy background, Ekta who had been passion for movies since her childhood. She is the  daughter of Bollywood  popular actors Jeetendra and Shobha Kapoor. After completing graduationfrom Mithibai College, she decided to make an entry to showbiz.

She started attending an internship with a film producer named Kailash Surendranath with the support of her father. After completing internship, she started plan to launch  her own production house. Initially, Ekta had faced rejection from everywhere ,but after a long time wait she launched her own production house ‘Balaji Telefilms’ in 1995.

After launching of her own production, Ekta started producing Tv operas which includes Chandrakanta, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii,Jodha Akbar, Naagin and Ye Hai Mohabbatein. Later, she become known as producer Ekta in the industry.

Apart from producing Televison serials, Ekta also produced several movies on silver-screen. The film ' Kyo Kii... Main Jhuth Nahin Bolta,' was her first her production venture. Her another notable project includes Ragini MMS, The Dirty Picture, Lootera, Ek Villain, Half Girlfriend, Goodbye and Kathal.

Ekta who had receievd several critical appreciation and acclodes for her great contribution to the industry. In 2020, she was awarded the fourth highest civilian award in India, Padma Shri.
