According to reports, the film had a good opening on day 1 as it made Rs 6 crore at the box office collection globally. The film received positive reviews from the audience and earned Rs 2 crore from the domestic box office on its first day. Produced by Mammootty Kompany and  directed by Roby Varghese Raj , "Kannur Squad" stars Mammootty in the lead role. Written by  Muhammed Shafi and actor Rony David Raj. Sushin Shyam has composed the music. The film is distributed in Kerala by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films.
