Mammootty once again proved as a Best Actor In Malayalam: Did you know before Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam how many Kerala State Film Awards he bagged ?

Before getting State Film Award for the movie Nanpakala Nerathu Mayakkam, Mammootty had received this award for the film Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha in 2010. It also marked the actor who received the award after 13 years. The mystery thriller movie directed by Ranjith, tells the story of a private detective, who gets an instinctive feeling to investigate a 52-year-old mystery murder case. In the movie, Mammootty who played the role of private detective 'Haridas' had grab the attention of the audience and critics. It is considered one of the finest performances of the actor.

Kaazhcha is a heart-touching story that narrates the story of strong bonding between two strangers.It is a complete emotional drama, which makes you feel cry sometimes. The actor again surprised the cinephiles by essaying the heart-touching character 'Madhavan'  in the movie. 'Kaazhcha' also marked the directorial debut of National Award Winner filmmaker Blessy. This is a must-watch movie. It is not only emotional but a feel-good movie too!

In the movie, Mammootty played the character of a cruel villain named Bhaskara Patelar. Through his performances in the movie, he proved as a versatile actor in the industry. Talking about Bhaskara Patelar, is a murderer, a womanizer, and a very intelligent criminal who surely knows how to hide his heinous actions behind his vicious smile in the film. Directed by Adoor Gopalakrishnan, Vidheyan is the adaptation of Paul Zacharias’ novella Bhaskara Pattelarum Ente Jeevithavum. For his stellar performance in the movie, Mammootty received Kerala State Films Best Actor Award for the movie in 1994.

Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha, directed by Hariharan is regarded as one of the best-historical period dramas ever made in Malayalam cinema. Mammootty as Chandhu Chevakar in the movie is a complex soul who perhaps lost more battles in life than he won. It is considered as one of the iconic characters of the actor played on the big screen. 

Adiyozhukkukal is a revenge thriller drama, narrates the story of an arrogant fisherman and his revenge against a man who sent him to jail. Directed by I.V.Sasi, the film marked the first collaboration of super star actors Mammootty and Mohanlal on-screen. Mammootty received the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor for his performance as Karunan in the movie. Released in 1984, the film turned out to be a superhit at the box office.
