Mirzapur The Film: Release Date, Cast, Story, and Everything About Pankaj Tripathi’s Crime Thriller

The hugely popular Mirzapur franchise is set for its biggest leap yet, moving from OTT to the big screen. The makers have officially announced that Mirzapur: The Movie will arrive in cinemas in September 2026, bringing the gritty world of Purvanchal and its iconic characters to a larger-than-life cinematic experience. Packed with revenge, power struggles, and intense action, the cult crime saga is ready to captivate audiences in theatres.

The film features the franchise’s popular characters, with Pankaj Tripathi returning as Akhandanand “Kaleen” Bhaiya and Ali Fazal as Govind “Guddu” Pandit. Divyenndu reprises his role as Munna Tripathi, alongside Shweta Tripathi Sharma as Golu Gupta and Rasika Dugal as Beena Tripathi. The cast also includes Harshita Gaur as Dimpy Pandit, Anjumm Shharma as Sharad Shukla, Rajesh Tailang and Sheeba Chaddha as Ramakant and Vasudha Pandit, Manu Rishi Chadha as IG Dubey, Shaji Chaudhary as Maqbool Khan, and Abhishek Banerjee as Compounder.

The film also introduces several new faces to the Mirzapur universe. Jitendra Kumar is reportedly stepping into the role of Bablu Pandit, originally played by Vikrant Massey, while Ravi Kishan joins in a key role that is being kept under wraps. Sonal Chauhan, Mohit Malik, and Sushant Singh are also part of the cinematic expansion, adding fresh dynamics to the intense power struggle in the story.

Mirzapur: The Movie is set to release in cinemas across India and worldwide on September 4, 2026. This theatrical debut marks a major milestone, as one of the most iconic Indian OTT crime dramas makes its transition to the big screen.

Key returning characters also play an important role in the film. Shweta Tripathi returns as Golu, whose journey into a stronger and more strategic player is expected to continue, while Rasika Dugal’s Beena Tripathi remains an unpredictable force. Even though Munna, played by Divyenndu, met his fate in the series, his legacy is likely to influence the story. While the plot is being kept secret, Mirzapur: The Movie is expected to expand beyond the district, raising the scale of the conflict with new rivals, old grudges, and a power struggle where survival comes at a heavy price.
