Mohanlal' s Top 6 Most Expensive Films

Vrushabha is an upcoming high-octane action drama. The film is directed by Nanda Kishore and written by Janardhan Maharishi shot in Malayalam and Telugu. Touted to be a pan-Indian movie, it will be made on a whopping budget of 400 crores. Mohanlal in the lead role, the film is produced by Ekta Kapoor of Balaji Telefilms, in collaboration with Connekkt Media and AVS Studios. Apart from Mohanlal, Vrushabha also stars Bollywood Actors Shanaya Kapoor and Zahrah S Khan in pivotal roles.

According to the latest report, Malaikkottai Valibhan will be made on a budget of 100 crores. Mohanlal in the lead role 'Malaikkottai Valibhan' will mark his first collaboration with Lijo Jose Pellissery. Sonalee Kulkarni plays the female lead in the film. If the reports are to be believed the film will hit the theaters in Decemeber 2023.

Mohanlal's directorial debut Barroz is one of the most-anticipated Malayalam movies in 2023. Touted to be  a children's fantasy film and was shot extensively at Navodaya Studios in Kochi, Goa, Chennai, and Bangkok. The film is said to be one of the most expensive films ever made in Indian Cinema, and will hit the screen on December 21, 2023.

L2: Empuraan is the sequel to the blockbuster 2019 release Lucifer, starring Mohanlal in the lead. It was helmed by Prithviraj Sukuramaran. Produced by Antony Perumbavoor under his production house Ashirvad Films, it stars  Mohanlal, Tovino Thomas, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Manju Warrier. Speaking about its budget, reports revealed that the markers allocated a whopping budget of Rs 400 crores for the movie.

Mohanlal starrer Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea was reportedly made on a budget of around Rs 100 crore, but was a box-office failure. But the film is a visual spectacle! It is Mollywood's most expensive film, and it does show on the screen. No wonder the film won National Award for Best Special Effects.

If reports are to be believed the makers spent a massive figure of Rs 20 crores for the movie. Odiyan is a horror-fantasy drama, directed by VA Shrikumar Menon. The film featured  Mohanlal, Manju Warrier, and Prakash Raj in the lead roles. Speaking about its box-office performance, the movie received major critical acclaim and was a huge success at the box-office.
