Sattamum Needhiyum, the much-anticipated Tamil courtroom drama series, is all set to premiere exclusively on ZEE5 starting July 18. Starring veteran actor Saravanan in a powerful comeback role, the series promises an emotionally intense narrative centered on justice, truth, and institutional accountability. This marks Saravanan’s return to lead roles after 15 years and celebrates his 34th year in the Tamil film industry.
The story follows Sundaramoorthy, a struggling notary who becomes involved in a sensitive legal case after a grieving father, Kuppusamy, tragically self-immolates in court while seeking justice for his missing daughter. Deeply moved, Sundaramoorthy files a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) and is soon joined by Aruna, a passionate law graduate determined to expose the truth. As their investigation unfolds, they uncover deeply buried secrets, systemic failures, and political interference. Together, they must navigate mounting legal and social challenges to bring the real culprits to light before it’s too late.
Leading the series is Saravanan, who delivers a gripping performance as Sundaramoorthy. The show also features a talented ensemble cast including Namritha, Aroul D Shankar, Shanmugham, Thiruselvam, Vijayashree, and Iniya Ram. Sattamum Needhiyum is directed by Balaji Selvaraj and created by Sooriya Prathap S, who also serves as the showrunner and writer.
