Shershaah To Mission Majnu: Sidharth Malhotra’s Memorable Roles Before Param Sundari

Param Sundari is an upcoming Hindi romantic comedy directed by Tushar Jalota and produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films. The film stars Sidharth Malhotra as Param Sachdev and Janhvi Kapoor as Dekhpatta Sundari Damodaram Pillai, weaving a cross-cultural love story set against the picturesque backdrop of Kerala. Originally slated for a July 25 release, the film has been rescheduled and will now hit cinemas on 29 August 2025. 

Shershaah (2021) is a biographical war drama based on the life of Captain Vikram Batra, a Param Vir Chakra awardee and Kargil War hero. Sidharth Malhotra delivered one of his most acclaimed performances, portraying both Vikram Batra’s bravery on the battlefield and his emotional love story with Dimple Cheema, played by Kiara Advani. The film, directed by Vishnuvardhan, was praised for its gripping storytelling, patriotic fervor, and Sidharth’s heartfelt portrayal of the real-life hero.

Ek Villain (2014) is a romantic thriller that showcased a new side of Sidharth Malhotra. He played Guru, a ruthless gangster who turns over a new leaf after falling in love with Aisha, portrayed by Shraddha Kapoor. The film takes a dark turn when Aisha is murdered, leading Guru on a gripping journey of revenge. Directed by Mohit Suri, the movie became a blockbuster. 

Mission Majnu (2023) is a patriotic spy thriller starring Sidharth Malhotra as Amandeep Singh, an undercover RAW agent who infiltrates Pakistan during the 1970s to expose their nuclear weapons program. The film follows his daring mission filled with suspense, danger, and emotional depth as he balances his love life with his secret identity.

Hasee Toh Phasee (2014) is a quirky romantic comedy featuring Sidharth Malhotra as Nikhil Bharadwaj, a struggling businessman engaged to Karishma, but things take an unexpected turn when he meets her eccentric sister, Meeta, played by Parineeti Chopra. Student Of The Year (2012) marked Sidharth Malhotra’s Bollywood debut, where he played Abhimanyu Singh, an ambitious middle-class student striving to win the prestigious Student of the Year trophy. Directed by Karan Johar, the film also starred Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt, revolving around friendship, love, and rivalry in a glamorous school setting.
