After a successful theatrical run, Aamir Khan’s much-talked-about film Sitaare Zameen Par is finally making its way to OTT. Interestingly, Aamir Khan had initially stated that the film would not release on OTT after being made available directly on YouTube, but he later changed his decision and opted for a digital premiere on Sony LIV. The sports drama Sitaare Zameen Par has finally locked its OTT release after a long theatrical run and an unconventional digital journey. Originally released in cinemas on June 20, 2025, the film arrives on subscription-based streaming nearly ten months later. Directed by RS Prasanna, it is an official remake of the Spanish hit Campeones and follows Gulshan Arora, an impulsive and ego-driven assistant basketball coach played by Aamir Khan.

Sitaare Zameen Par stars Aamir Khan as Gulshan Arora, alongside Genelia Deshmukh and Dolly Ahluwalia in key roles. The film also introduces a talented group of debutants as the “Sitaare” team, including Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Vedant Sharma, Simran Mangeshkar, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Naman Mishra, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, and Samvit Desai. Directed by RS Prasanna, it is produced by Aamir Khan Productions along with Aparna Purohit, Ravi Bhagchandka, and Kiran Rao, with music composed by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy.
Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par (2025) wrapped up its theatrical run as a commercial success, earning approximately ₹266–267 crore worldwide. The film collected around ₹165–167 crore net in India, along with an overseas gross of about ₹67–69 crore. Made on an estimated budget of ₹120 crore, it emerged as one of the top-performing Hindi films of 2025.
Sitaare Zameen Par will begin streaming on Sony LIV on April 3, 2026, coinciding with the Good Friday long weekend. Before its OTT debut, the film followed a unique digital route, premiering on a pay-per-view basis on YouTube via the Aamir Khan Talkies channel on August 1, 2025, with a rental fee of ₹100. Adding to the experience, the platform will also release a special documentary titled Sitaaron Ke Sitaare, which highlights the real-life stories of the parents of the film’s neurodivergent actors.
The story follows Gulshan Arora, played by Aamir Khan, an arrogant basketball coach whose life changes after he is sentenced to community service, where he must train a team of neurodivergent players. What begins as frustration soon transforms into a journey of growth, as Gulshan learns to understand, respect, and be inspired by his team, with support from a key character played by Genelia Deshmukh. Centered on themes of inclusivity and self-discovery, the film emphasizes that true success lies not in winning, but in dignity, resilience, and human connection.
