Thama: From Ayushmann Khurrana To Rashmika Mandanna, First Look Out For Maddock’s Upcoming Movie

Thama is an upcoming Bollywood horror-comedy directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, featuring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles. Produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik under the banner of Maddock Films, the movie is set for a Diwali 2025 theatrical release. After delivering blockbuster hits like Stree, Stree 2, Munjya, and Bhediya, Maddock Films is ready to expand its horror-comedy universe with yet another entertaining addition, Thama.

On 18 August, the makers revealed Ayushmann Khurrana’s first look as Alok, the central character of Thama. Alok is portrayed as the last hope of humanity, a character filled with courage and determination. His depiction draws comparisons to Rajkummar Rao’s Vicky from Stree, hinting at a similar blend of heroism and humor in this horror-comedy universe.

Rashmika Mandanna makes a striking entry as Tadaka – the only ray of light in Thama. Her flowing hair and vibrant green attire give her a powerful, almost superhero-like presence, echoing the enigmatic charm of Shraddha Kapoor’s role in Stree.

Paresh Rawal steps into the role of Mr. Ram Bajaj Goyal, a character that seems inspired by Pankaj Tripathi’s Rudra from Stree. Described as “Jo Hamesha Comedy Mein Tragedy Dhoondhte Hain” (the one who always finds tragedy in comedy), his part is both quirky and pivotal. Interestingly, his name appears to be a playful nod to Paresh Rawal’s iconic Ram Gopal Bajaj from the cult classic Andaz Apna Apna (1994).

Nawazuddin Siddiqui joins Thama as Yakshasan – Andhere ka Badshah (King of Darkness), bringing a menacing and mysterious edge to the horror-comedy.
